Kristen Santiago Darr

Hey everybody! My name is Kristen Darr and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of North Carolina. I have earned my Masters of Social Work with aocus in Mental Health and Substance Abuse from Fayetteville State University. I have worked with families, children, and adults with a wide range of mental health concerns. I enjoy collaborating with people of diverse racial, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds who have experienced mental health concerns. I work with issues related to anger, anxiety, depression, panic, PTSD, self-esteem, and stress. My primary modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). However, I am also versed in Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

My goal is to work together to address your concerns, uncover your strengths, and face challenges head on.  I understand the value of empowering others to reach their personal goals.  I believe that therapy is a collaboration between the client and the therapist. I want to create an environment that is safe, nurturing, and authentic; where the client can be seen with unconditional positive regard and receptiveness. Throughout my therapeutic approach, I have a strong sense of compassion and commitment to helping others. I am a non-judgmental, easy-going, culturally sensitive clinical professional.

When I’m not doing therapy, I enjoy spending time with my husband and goldendoodle, Winston. I also enjoy shopping until I drop and working out.
